How to Move Images in
Google Docs

Move images within your Google Docs document to position them exactly where you need them. This guide will show you how to adjust image placement using text wrapping and alignment options.

  1. Open Google Docs – Go to docs.google.com and open the document where the image is located.

  2. Click on the Image – Click on the image you want to move to select it.

  3. Use the Drag-and-Drop Method

    • Once the image is selected, hover your cursor over the image.

    • Click and hold the image, then drag it to the new location where you want it to appear in your document.

  4. Use Image Options (Wrap Text)

    • If the image moves along with the text, click on the image and choose the Wrap Text option in the toolbar.

    • This allows you to move the image freely without affecting the surrounding text.

  5. Adjust Image Alignment (Optional)

    • For better placement, click on the image and select Align Left, Align Center, or Align Right in the toolbar.

  6. Resize the Image (Optional) – If you need to resize the image, click and drag the corners to adjust its dimensions while maintaining the aspect ratio.

  7. Use the “Position Options” (Optional)

    • Right-click on the image and select “Image options”.

    • Under Text Wrapping, select the “Break text” or “Behind text” options for more control over how the image moves with text.

  8. Done – Your image is now properly moved and positioned in the document. You can make additional adjustments anytime!
