Learn how to create structured documents in Google Docs by using headings effectively. This will enhance readability and help organize your content for better navigation.

  1. Open your Google Docs document and place the cursor where you want to insert a heading.

  2. Highlight the text that you want to make a heading.

  3. In the toolbar at the top, click on the "Styles" dropdown (it may say "Normal text" by default).

  4. From the dropdown, select the heading style you want (Heading 1, Heading 2, etc.).

  5. The text will be formatted as a heading, with the appropriate size and style.

  6. You can create a table of contents based on the headings by going to "Insert" > "Table of contents".
