How to Do a Zoom Call

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to start and conduct a Zoom call.

  1. Download & Open Zoom – Install the Zoom app from zoom.us/download or open the app if already installed.

  2. Sign In or Sign Up – Use your existing Zoom account or create a new one to get started.

  3. Start a New Meeting

    • Click on “New Meeting”

    • Your Zoom call will start instantly with your camera on/off (you can toggle it)

  4. Invite Participants

    • Click “Participants” > “Invite”

    • Share the Zoom link, Meeting ID, or send invites via email or WhatsApp

  5. Enable Audio & Video

    • Click “Join Audio” to connect your mic

    • Use the camera icon to start/stop video

  6. Use Features During Call

    • Chat, Reactions, Share Screen, Record, and Participants panel

    • Mute/unmute yourself or others

  7. End or Leave the Call

    • As host: Click “End Meeting for All”

    • As participant: Click “Leave Meeting”

  8. Done – You’ve successfully made a Zoom call and used its core features.
