This guide will walk you through the steps required to zoom out in Google Docs, making it easier to view more content on your screen at once. Follow the instructions below to adjust your zoom settings.

  1. Open Google Docs – Go to docs.google.com and open your document.

  2. Locate the Zoom Option – On the top toolbar, you'll see a dropdown (usually says 100% by default).

  3. Click the Zoom Dropdown – Tap on the percentage (e.g., 100%) to open zoom options.

  4. Select a Lower Percentage

    • Choose 90%, 75%, or 50% depending on how much you want to zoom out

    • The document will instantly resize

  5. Use Keyboard Shortcut (Optional)

    • Press Ctrl + – (minus) on Windows

    • Press Cmd + – (minus) on Mac

    • This zooms out your browser view, not just Docs

  6. Use Browser Zoom Controls

    • Click the three-dot menu in your browser (top-right)
