How to Slice in Figma
This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to create and export slices in Figma. Slicing allows you to export specific parts of your design for use in other projects. Follow these easy steps to slice your design effectively.
Open Your Figma File
– Launch Figma and open the design file where you want to create slices.Select the Slice Tool
– Click the “Slice Tool” (icon with a diagonal cut square) in the top toolbar,
or press S on your keyboard.Draw the Slice Area
– Click and drag on the canvas to draw a slice over the desired area.Adjust the Slice
– Resize or reposition the slice as needed by dragging its edges or moving it.Name Your Slice (Optional)
– Select the slice and rename it in the layers panel to stay organized.Export the Slice
– With the slice selected, click “+” under Export in the right-hand panel,
choose the desired format (PNG, JPG, SVG, etc.), then click “Export”.Done
