Easily restore separate cells in Google Sheets by unmerging them. Follow these simple steps for efficient data organization.

  1. Open your Google Sheets document and navigate to the sheet where the merged cells are located.

  2. Click on the merged cell that you want to unmerge. If multiple merged cells need to be unmerged, drag to select all of them.

  3. In the toolbar at the top, locate the "Merge cells" icon, which looks like two rectangles merging.

  4. Click on the "Merge cells" icon and select "Unmerge" from the dropdown menu. This will separate the previously merged cells into individual cells.

  5. If the merged cell contained data, it will remain in the upper-left cell, while the other cells will become empty.

  6. You can now edit and format each cell separately as needed.
