How to Save Figma File
Learn how to save your work in Figma by following these straightforward steps. This guide will show you how to quickly and efficiently save your Figma file to ensure all your progress is kept safe.
Auto-Save is ON by Default – Figma automatically saves your work in real-time. No need to press Ctrl+S — kabhi bhi kuch miss nahi hota!
Make Sure You're Logged In – Your file only saves if you're logged into your Figma account. Check the top-right corner to confirm you're signed in.
File Is Saved to the Cloud – All files are saved to the Figma cloud, and can be accessed from any device by logging in to figma.com.
Check Save Status – Look at the top center of your screen. If it says “All changes saved”, you're good. If not, wait a few seconds — Figma saves automatically as you work.
Duplicate for Backup (Optional) – You can make a manual copy:
Right Click on the file in your dashboard → Duplicate
Or in the file: File > Save a copy
Download for Offline Use (Optional) – If you want a local copy:
Go to File > Save local copy (saves as
.fig
file)You can import it later using Import File in Figma
Use “Version History” – Go to:
File > Show version history to view or restore previous versions. No need to save manually each time.
