How to Do Matching on
Google Forms
Open Google Forms – Go to Google Forms and create a new form or open an existing one.
Add a Question – Click the “+” button to add a new question.
Select “Multiple-choice Grid” or “Dropdown” –
Choose “Multiple-choice Grid” for matching column options.
Alternatively, use the “Dropdown” question type for a single-selection matching format.
Enter Matching Pairs –
In Row options, list the items that need to be matched.
In Column options, provide possible answers for selection.
Enable Required Responses (Optional) – Click the three-dot menu ⋮ and select “Require a response per row” to ensure all matches are completed.
Customize Answer Key (For Quizzes) –
Click “Answer key” and select the correct matches if using Quiz mode.
Assign points for correct answers.
Test Your Form – Preview the form to check if the matching section works as expected.
Share Your Form – Click “Send” to share via email, link, or embed it on a website.
