How to Blur in Figma

This guide provides step-by-step instructions on how to apply a blur effect to elements within Figma. Follow these steps carefully to achieve the desired blur effect on your design elements.

  1. Select the Object – Click on the shape, image, or layer you want to blur.

  2. Go to the Right Panel – In the right-hand properties panel, scroll to the “Effects” section.

  3. Click the ‘+’ Icon Next to Effects – This will add a default effect (usually drop shadow).

  4. Change the Effect Type – Click the dropdown where it says “Drop Shadow” and choose “Background Blur” or “Layer Blur”:

    • 🔹 Background Blur blurs anything behind the object.

    • 🔹 Layer Blur blurs the object itself.

  5. Adjust Blur Intensity – Use the slider or type a value to control how strong the blur is.

  6. Done – Your element now has a blur effect!
