How to Change Zoom Background
This guide provides a step-by-step process to change your background in Zoom. Follow these steps to customize your virtual meeting space with an image of your choice, such as 'San Francisco.jpg'.
Open Zoom App – Launch the Zoom Desktop or Mobile App and sign in to your account.
Go to Settings (Before Meeting) – Click the gear icon (⚙️) on the top-right (Desktop) → Go to “Background & Effects” or “Virtual Background”.
Or During a Meeting – Click the “^” arrow next to Stop Video → Select “Choose Virtual Background”.
Choose a Default Background – Zoom offers pre-loaded options like beach, grass, or blur. Just click to apply.
Upload Custom Background – Click the “+” icon to upload your own image or video background (JPG, PNG, MP4 formats).
Use “Blur” Option (Optional) – Select “Blur” to keep the focus on you and hide the background without using an image.
Enable Green Screen (If Needed) – If you're using a physical green screen, check the box “I have a green screen” for better effect.
Done – Your virtual background is now active. It will apply in all future meetings unless changed.
