How to Merge Cells in

Easily combine multiple cells into one to enhance the layout of your Google Sheets. Merging cells can improve readability and organization of your data.

  1. Open Google Sheets and select the cells you want to merge by clicking and dragging over them.

  2. Click on the “Format” menu at the top, then select “Merge cells.”

  3. Choose from the merge options: Merge Horizontally, Merge Vertically, or Merge All.

  4. The selected cells will combine into a single cell, and any data in non-primary cells will be deleted.

  5. To unmerge, go back to “Format” > “Merge cells” and select “Unmerge.”

  6. Be careful when merging cells with existing data, as it may remove or override content in the merged area.
