Easily protect important data in your Google Sheets by locking specific cells. This ensures that only authorized users can edit or modify the locked content.

  1. Select the cells you want to lock by clicking and dragging over them.

  2. Click on “Data” in the top menu and choose “Protect sheets and ranges.”

  3. In the right panel, enter a name for the protected range if needed and click “Set permissions.”

  4. Choose who can edit the locked cells—either restrict editing to yourself or allow specific users.

  5. Click “Done” to save the changes, and the selected cells will now be locked for unauthorized editing.

  6. If needed, return to the same menu to adjust permissions or remove cell protection.
