Learn how to easily add subscript formatting to your text in Google Docs. This feature is useful for scientific equations, chemical formulas, and other specialized writing needs.

  1. Open your Google Docs document and highlight the text that you want to format as subscript.

  2. Go to the "Format" menu at the top of the window.

  3. In the dropdown menu, select "Text", and then choose "Subscript".

  4. The selected text will appear smaller and placed slightly below the normal text line, indicating subscript formatting.

  5. To remove the subscript formatting, repeat the process or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + = (Windows) or Cmd + = (Mac).

  6. You can also use the "Format" > "Text" > "Superscript" option to switch between subscript and superscript formatting.
