  1. Open your Google Docs document and click on the "Insert" menu at the top.

  2. In the dropdown menu, hover over "Page numbers".

  3. A submenu will appear with different page number formatting options, including placement at the top or bottom of the page and whether the page number should start from the first page or the second.

  4. Select the page number style you want, and it will be inserted into your document.

  5. If you want to customize the numbering further, click on "More options" in the "Page numbers" submenu.

  6. The page numbers will automatically update as you add or remove pages from the document.
